My biggest thing with the klipsch is that you can really separate the speakers on your desk and get some really excellent stereo separation.

Hey first, I just found out that you'll need to put a foam or a doormatt foam type beneath the razer lev's subwoofer for it to sound better like the Klipsch's. Try it then try to compare them again. Because, well, Klipsch is actually better also the sub has higher wattage but you can make the Razer lev sub's hard bass to sound softer. 🙂

Also, you can adjust the Razer sub's volume to sound better as well by adjusting it via pressing and holding the dolby logo button then + or – to adjust. 🙂 But I still like the Klipsch.

if your going to test speakers like these at least take the time to learn how to use them… an maybe turn the bass down on the klipsch and the volume up…Cause I know my Klipsch will put out some great mids and highs

I have the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX powered through a Creative Sound Blaster Z with custom EQ, and the Klipsch sound damn good. I've had mine for roughly 3 years, and have no complaints. I live in an apartment, and can't ever fully enjoy them with out knocking things off my downstairs neighbors wall. I always have to have the bass all the way down, and keep volume levels in check. I try to be a considerate neighbor. I stopped using bass when I found out the damages it was causing… It sucks not being able to fully enjoy these speakers.

The mids and highs are washed out because you have the bass turned up WAY too much on the klipsch. Other reviewers clearly state that if you turn the bass up beyond the default setting you can immediately wash out everything else.

Why don't you try out using Klipsch subwoofer as Razer's sub? Since you won both of them, then show us the result. 🙂 I think they can be paired, if not, try using an adapter. 🙂

Klipsch Promedia should be better since it is way too expensive and better made than razer. Razer Lev is like just 160 – 190 USD compared to KP – 420+ USD. I like Klipsch better though Razer is cheaper, I still won't buy it. xD

the klipsch satellites have a "horn" tweeter that is very directional. so pointing the speakers away from you will make the highs sound washed out. Ideally they would be pointing right at your ears

you obviously know nothing about sound. even for a basshead true audiophile will not talk about bass all day and go for overpowering bass. besides only an idiot would put sub on table. do you even know how bass travel? do you even know placement of subs can change how they sound? also there is no such term as "solid bass". that is for people who have no knowledge with sound. also you dont call bass clear. its how clean are the bass. gosh… sick of all these nonsense "reviews"

you have the wrong model man, you want the ones that are THX certified they have a wider range and tighter sound profile on the bass.

I have to chime in on the reason why the K's sounded washed out. They're not washed out, what you're hearing is a flatter response curve when compared to the R's. What's happening is that the K's are designed to be pushed to play audio past 85db. The perceived frequency response by your inner ear starts to hear all frequencies at equal loudness from 85db and higher based on the Fletcher Munson curves. So, with that in mind, and mixing engineers utilizing 3db per octave reference curves (pink noise profile) you get a clear and smooth sound at higher volumes. The R's are selling good sounding junk basically…Chinese make parts. While it sound good at lower volumes, the K's will outperform the R's once you start hitting 85db. Trust me…there's a reason why K's have been around for so long. I have K's pro audio speakers and I thought the same thing…like "wtf?! I payed over $1k for two speakers and they sound like shite…all dull and what not." Then I cranked them up…I mean way up with a Denon RCVR. Ah…I see. Then it all made sense. It's like a muscle car…maybe no so fast off the line but once it hits 60mph…that's where the muscle kicks in. Great review. I really enjoyed your enthusiasm. One little advice…you should do a little more research about THX certification…it's a lot more technical than you think. A real test would have been to set them up in a real theater setup with proper listening distance and cranked up from 65db to 90db. The difference is actually extraordinarily big. BIG. Also, you need to set your phone EQ to flat.

I'd vote for Klipsch but then again I'm biased because I own the system. Maybe the Leviathan does have better mids/highs for gaming. THX certified Klipsch probably would have to have a very wide sweep of bass response that for many gamers would be overkill with some games and not really necessary in many others. I really like mine though. The first time I finally got my wish to watch Master and Commander with this system I was absolutely staggered at how 'in the movie' I was when the cannons started firing between ships. Fantastic.
