North Korea is one of the poorest countries in the world, but its leader Kim Jong Un has still found the money he needs to finance a nuclear weapons program, despite the country’s fundamental poverty and international economic sanctions.
This documentary looks at how, and introduces the men who have helped Kim Jong Un keep his dreams of reaching nuclear power status alive. North Korea has not reined in its nuclear program, despite a number of UN resolutions that have tried to force it to do so. So how has the isolated country kept the program going despite sanctions? Every year Pyongyang sends millions of North Korean workers abroad, selling their services to over 40 countries around the world. And their salaries flow directly into Kim’s treasury. The only ones who know exactly how the system works are the men who have helped the North Korean government carry through the program for years. A film team spent years researching these men and their secrets – from bankers and diplomats to the laborers and specialists who worked abroad and whose wages flowed into the regime’s coffers. Come and meet all the dictator’s men.

This is such a powerfully edited and profoundly paced documentary DW. Eye opening stuff. Kudos!!!!!!!
So technically Kim is a billionaire
I really do not know why we tolerate such a regime. They are not human, they are just the biggest garbage humanity has ever produced. We long the day this regime fall and its people freed of their slavery.
I cannot believe that some people in free countries want this kind of thing in their country, not to mention praise it amd hand their money to a trigger happy regime.
Exactly the same as Vietnamese communists, 2 times a day the speaker starting at 5am and 5pm every day, to convince the people about there's rigime.
The creepy annoying wake-Alarm can be heard all over North Korea except Kim Jung Un’s palaces .
Kim Jong un's picture will be hung next to his father soon.
Modern slavery…
DOWN WITH KIM JUNG UN DYNASTY, YOU WILL DIE OF HEART ATTACT. FREEDOMS FOR NORTH KOREANS PEOPLES OF REPUBLIC OF NORTH KOREA.
Best documentary but this is total injustice in this 21st century
I greatly dislke voiceovers… I want to hear their voices. Subtitles and hearing the original speaker's own voice is so much better!
Forced slavery in behalf of the despot.
Nice document I love it
u.s.a. and u.n. gave to north korea a 70 years old embargo, and when they go to visit the country they complain that the people is poor. bloody genial.
in the videos and comments some other countries are barking bcoz north korea doesn't sing their songs. if North Korea down their head in front of USA then you guys will stop barking. You guys want everybody will follow you? Why don't you make this kind of videos on Kashmir(India), Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and the places destroying by the terrorist and other countries army? What makes you to bark on North Korea? Don't you want they make nuclear?
Mind blowing & an eye opening documentary.

It’s so freaking sad. I’m so glad the people who got out, got out and started putting themselves first. If only the rest of them could but it’s easy to understand why most of them cannot and will not. I wouldn’t leave either if I knew my family would be punished severely for it.
US can not access North Korea and China.. so they will keep on criticising these two countires.. but the people of china and north korea are more happy then other parts of the country.. i think…

I wish that people around the world except NK people they should be thankful and dont complain about our leader that they are doing their best for their country man. We should be thankful that we don't have a leader like Kim Jong Un. Otherwise we don't have freedom to even complaint.
