My personal experience with all of these speakers were overall fun and great to test out, my ratings are my own and I understand not everyone will agree with me but here they are:
from Worst to Best:
4. Logitech z623 –
3. Edifier r1280t –
2. Creative t20 –
1. Bose Companion 2 –
My explanations for my ratings:
4. The Logitech z623 have a ton of great reviews, i thought when i unopened them that i would be blown away with theater quality sound due to the THX certification, I thought they sounded ok, they were LOUD, but my first immediate thought was, damn the sub is hiding most of the sound from the sattelite speakers, so I turned the sub off, and the speakers were so bad i almost got sick! they sounded like 5 dollar used speakers, they were tinny and very bad, so i knew it was all subwoofer. Who would these be good for?? if you like loud music, house partys, blasting music then these will be a good fit., if you like clarity, live in an apartment and just need good sounding speakers then these are too much and not great sound quality at all.
3. The Edifier r1280t speakers look great, have great controls, but ulitmatley for a desktop set of speakers, they were too hollow and to loud to sit a few feet away from, they are great sounding speakers if you want to hook them up for party or watching movies if your not sitting directly in front of them, they ended up hurting my head after a while of use.
2.The creative t20’s are almost it, they have clear mids, crisp highs and impressive bass for the size of the speakers, they just sounded a little off to me, they didnt give that clear, tight sound I was looking for and ultimatley made me question if they were worth $70, if they were sold for around $50 I would be very happy with them, they just were not worth the money. They sound good, but not as good as the Bose.
1. The Bose Companion 2 series 3 speakers are definitely not perfect sounding speakers by any means, but I was very impressed by the clarity, the fullness, and richness they provided, the bass was even sharp, the mids and highs mixed well and I found myself getting that satisfying feeling when I would play movies and listen to music, I cant say that I felt that with the other speakers, although I would love a pair of premium speakers that sound theater quality, the Bose actually fits the bill the best for budget speakers in the $100 range, these are for people who dont want a sub woofer and are looking for the best sound quality they can get for $100.
