If you work in USA or Canada , you'd be very safe. One day you should walk with the president of USA ,sit beside him as an American journalist and listen to his counterpart Mr Kim Jong un when they are in a summit with all welcomed guests and put yourself as first on news. That would be a good return for NK.

I don't think Kim cares about defectors if they do not have valuable information about North Korea. Also, he wouldn't mind if they have but none can be done from that point. Like if NK has stealth long-range anti-ballistic missiles, and somebody with this info defect to RK and the US. Kim won't mind, because nothing can be done against this weapon.
Kim jung un is like the walls in 'the promised neverland' and 'attack on titans' but the enemy is nowhere to be found.

Defecting has a negative connotation. I would say escaping tyrannical rule. It removes the negative connotation from the one escaping and places it where it belongs to the one being escaped from. I have a lot of respect for those who had the courage to leave.
