In this tutorial, you will learn how to remove white edges or fringes from cut-outs in Photoshop!
Fringing, the white edges, or halos, around your selections, could be very distracting and could ruin a good composite.
I’m going to show you two filters designed to specifically work with masks and selections.
They are quite powerful, and you can use them to remove fringes on your cut-outs.
The vast majority of Photoshop users are unaware that these filters exist. I’m pretty sure that this video will show you new tools and techniques to enhance your Photoshop masking skills!
We will work with three examples, and I will show you how you can apply these filters to different situations and the advantages of using these filters over other methods of similar methods.

I appreciate all of your tutorials, thanks!
Thank you 😊
I have to have a clipping path for my design team to use in layouts. When I use this method, I can grab the layer mask from the Channel panel, load as selection, and make work path from selection. But the details are lost when I do this. Is there a setting that increases the accuracy of this method, or is there another method that enable accurate replication of the layer mask into the clipping path layer in the Paths panel? Again, the design team needs a silo layer in the Paths panel, separately from the layer mask in the Layers panel.
Great Job Thank you
Thank you! Easy and saves so much time. 🙂 Glad I came across your channel.
Amazing !!!
thank you, very new to me
The whole section on the soccer ball demonstrating why "Shift Edge" is not as effective as Minimize/Maximize is what sets PTC and Jesus in a different league than any other tutorials, always demonstrating that he's taken every factor into consideration before recommending a technique.
